Endocrinologist Hunter Heath explores both the details and the generalities of medical science. The conversation starts with the role of calcium in many processes including the presence of kidney stones. Then he talks about molecular medicine which, it seems, soon may provide a cure for Sickle Cell Anemia, and other diseases. A relatively new drug from this category of research has placed Dr. Heath's colon cancer in remission, an impossibility just a few years ago.
